Hi, I’m Anthony and I’m the owner and Principal Optometrist here at Clarke & Roskrow.
I qualified as an Optometrist in 2000, and worked for large High Street chain opticians as well as independent, family-run opticians in Leicester, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire until my wife, Karen, and I took over K & G Roskrow Optometrists in 2014.
From 2003 to 2016, I worked one day per week in a specialist Consultant-led Glaucoma Clinic at Leicester Royal Infirmary. My work there led to me being one of the first Optometrists in the UK to receive the coveted Diploma in Glaucoma in 2010, followed by the Diploma in Independent Therapeutic Prescribing in 2012. These higher postgraduate qualifications are an indication of my commitment to lifelong learning, as well as being a commitment to offering a much higher level of clinical care for our clients than most “regular” optometrists can provide. My experience at Leicester Royal Infirmary also means that I have strong working relationships with many of the Consultant Ophthalmologists in Leicester and Leicestershire, allowing me to recommend and refer clients (when needed) smoothly, promptly, and to the most appropriate Consultant.
In 2014, I thought it would be a great idea to have our own practice rather than working for someone else. Karen and I purchased what was then K & G Roskrow Optometrists, a family-owned practice established in 1974 by Keith Roskrow.
In 2017/18 we undertook a 7-month renovation and refurbishment project to create what is now Clarke & Roskrow Styling Opticians, a multi-award winning boutique optical practice in the heart of Market Harborough.
As the owner and Principal Optometrist I wear multiple hats but I still really enjoy being in the consulting room; getting to meet and learn about new people, discovering their hidden concerns and frustrations, offering personalised solutions and recommendations, and seeing the difference that having healthy eyes and precision vision can make on the quality of our clients’ lives. Being the guardian of people’s most precious sense, the gift of sight, is hugely rewarding and humbling.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family (I have two teenage boys who are sport-crazy), walking our dog, Wilfred (a working cocker-spaniel), and going to the gym. During the COVID19-pandemic, I thought it would be a good idea to take-up endurance running and now enjoy taking part in half-marathons and Ultra-marathons across the UK. As a family, we recently got into skiing, which we all thoroughly enjoy, despite the occasional mishap and injury!

Hello, I’m Tina and I’m a qualified Dispensing Optician* and Eyewear Stylist here at Clarke and Roskrow, styling opticians.
I have been in optics for over 20 years, and have been a member of the Clarke and Roskrow family since 2018.
The best part about my job is the client relationships that we are able to build. I am a people person; I love meeting new people, learning about them and helping them to either begin their eyewear journey or help them to discover a whole new world of eyewear that they may never have seen before. I am also very proud of our beautiful eye wear collections and love sharing them with the world!
In my spare time, I love going to the theatre and live music events. I also enjoy going to the seaside; there’s nothing better than fish and chips by the sea! Spending time with family and friends is also really important to me.

Hi, I’m Bhav, I have been working in Optics for 20-years and have been part of the C&R family since 2018. I am a qualified Dispensing Optician* and Eyewear Stylist.
I love working at C&R as I get to create some amazing relationships with our wonderful clients, as well as working with fabulous eyewear collections.
The best part of my job is watching the pleasure clients get from having stunning eyewear and seeing how much it transforms their life, both in terms of having exceptional vision but also how having fabulous eyewear helps them to look and feel their very best.
A huge part of my life outside of optics is the world of canines; I have 5 dogs myself and I compete across the country in Flyball on a weekly basis including attending events such as Crufts and Goodwoof each year. My passion for all things dog-related started at a very early age and has remained with me for all my life. I am also a qualified Canine Hydrotherapist running my own clinic treating a wide variety of dogs in my days away from C&R.

Hi, I’m Jason and I’m a qualified Dispensing Optician* and Eyewear Stylist here at Clarke & Roskrow Styling Opticians.
I’ve been part of the C&R family since 2019 and have worked in Optics for almost 20 years. I know what you’re thinking…”Twenty years?! He looks too young!”
A highlight of my day would be helping a client to discover a frame that they thought would never work for them; surprising clients and gently pushing them out of their comfort zone by showing them the possibilities with their eyewear is really rewarding, for me and for them!
When I’m not helping clients to discover their perfect glasses, you’ll most likely find me in the gym, reading a book, or gaming on my XBox…yeah, I’m a bit nerdy.

Who are Clarke & Roskrow
Clarke & Roskrow Styling Opticians isn’t your average optician. Choosing who cares for your eyes and where you select your eyewear are decisions that deserve thoughtful consideration.
This family-owned, independent practice has been a fixture on Church Street since 1974. In May 2014, Anthony Clarke, a highly skilled optometrist, and his wife Karen took the reins. Anthony began his career in 2000 after qualifying as an optometrist. Following a successful tenure at Boots, he joined a respected independent group in Oadby & Wigston in 2004, where he honed his expertise until purchasing Clarke & Roskrow 10 years later.
Since then, Anthony and Karen have dedicated themselves to transforming Clarke & Roskrow into the outstanding optician it is today. Supported by their passionate team, they are committed to providing exceptional care and personalised service, always with your vision and style in mind.
